Learn how to develop a business proposal and business plan, manage operations and finances and promote your business to your target audience.

Objectives:

Upon the successful completion of the course of study, students should be able to:

  • Demonstrate skills in leadership, management and business administration

  • Develop business proposals and business plans

  • Describe and explain concepts and ideas regarding delivering a product and service to customers

  • Apply strategies to manage financial plans and resources and control risks within a business

  • Identify and evaluate marketing opportunities and develop social media engagement plans.

Student Requirements:

  • At least 15 years old

  • Access to a laptop, Zoom and a stable internet connection

  • Approval of your participation from your school and parent/guardian

  • A spare line in your school timetable

  • A business idea you want to pursue

  • Achieved at least a sound level (C) of achievement for English in their most recent report card and an average effort mark of a B across all subjects

  • Get Set conducts an Initial Skills Assessment via an online Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Indicator.

Assessments:

Students will have both theoretical and practical assessments throughout the course.

Students are assessed through:

  • Practical tasks/observations

  • Written reports

  • Group projects

  • eLearning projects

  • Learner portfolio.
