Course Overview:

Students gain the knowledge and confidence they will need to make a difference in the world through business.

Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised qualification can apply for a range of roles straight out of high school, continue with further study or start their own business!

Students who achieve success in this course are those who possess a high level of self-motivation and determination to complete tasks and achieve results.


Upon the successful completion of the course of study, students should be able to:

  • Demonstrate skills in leadership, management and business administration

  • Develop and implement business plans

  • Describe and explain concepts and ideas regarding delivering a product and service to customers

  • Apply strategies to manage financial plans and resources and control risks within a business

  • Identify and evaluate marketing opportunities and develop social media engagement plans.

School Requirements:

Trainer and Assessor

  • Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

  • Business qualification (Diploma-level or above)

  • Business/Management experience within the last 12 months.

Student Requirements:

  • Access to a laptop and internet at school and at home

  • Achieved at least a sound level (C) of achievement for English in their most recent report card and an average effort mark of a B across all subjects.


Get Set Education conducts an Initial Skills Assessment via an online Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Indicator. Each school must also conduct a suitability check to assist in preparing Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) where skill weaknesses are identified.

BSBOPS504  Manage business risk

BSBFIN501  Manage budgets and financial plans.


Students will have both theoretical and practical assessments throughout the course.

Students are assessed through:

  • Practical tasks/observations

  • Written reports

  • Group projects

  • eLearning projects

  • Learner portfolio.
